Who we are

Embercode is run by Chiranjeet Mishra, trading as Embercode. We decide why and how your personal data is used, which makes us a data fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the DPDP Act).

What we collect

Your email address and name.
Your learning progress, lesson completions and quiz scores.
Solutions you run or submit for review.
Questions you ask the AI tutor.
Resume and project text you paste in for review.
Payment records: what you bought, the amount, the date, the status and your invoice number. Razorpay handles your card and UPI details. We never see or store them.
Basic technical data needed to run and secure the site.

Why we use it

To run the course and keep your progress.
To run your plan and the features it includes.
To answer AI tutor questions and review what you submit.
To issue certificates.
To take payments, issue invoices and keep tax records.
To answer your support requests.
To keep the site safe and stop abuse.

Who processes it for us

We use these service providers. They handle your data only to do the job we give them.

Supabase, for our database and sign-in. Your data is stored in Mumbai, India.
Vercel, for hosting the website.
Razorpay, for payments.
Resend, for sending account and plan emails.
Anthropic, for AI answers. The text you send to an AI feature, including resume and project text you paste in, is sent to Anthropic to produce the answer.

Data kept in your browser

Your browser's local storage keeps your progress on this device. When you sign in, that progress is merged into your account. When you sign out, the progress stored in this browser is cleared. It stays in your account.

How long we keep it

Account data and progress: until you delete your account.
Payment and invoice records: 8 years, because tax law needs them.

Your rights

You can:

ask for access to your data and a copy of it;
ask us to correct it;
ask us to erase it, by deleting your account in Profile under Back up and reset;
withdraw your consent at any time;
nominate someone to use these rights for you.

How to use your rights

In Profile you can export a copy of your data or delete your account. For anything else, write to hello@embercode.me. We answer within 30 days.

Children

If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's consent to use this site.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we will date the change and show the new date at the top of this page. Our terms are in the Terms of use.
